Quenchometer (MAGNETIC QUENCHOMETER METHOD)

CTRONIX brand Quenchometer is an apparatus that evaluates the quenching characteristics of petroleum fluids used in the quenching of metals by Magnetic method. The test method determines the time for cooling of a chromised nickel ball from ~885^oC to 354^oC (Curie point for Nickle), when quenched in 200 ml.of test fluid in a non-magnetic metal beaker maintained at 21 - 27^oC.

Working Principle & Set Up:

• The test method determines the time for cooling of the chromised nickel ball from ~885^oC to 354^oC, when quenched in 200 ml. of test fluid in a non magnetic metal beaker maintained at 21 to 27^oC.
• Test ball is a highly polished Chromed Nickel ball having a diameter of 22.22m.m.and having a weight of 50+/- 2 Grams as per ASTM standard.

• The user needs to pre-heat the Chromed Nickel Ball to the required temperature and drop it in the cage with the quenching oil. Once the Ball is dropped inside the fluid (placed in the swinging cage) a photo sensor triggers the timer to start. (photosensor triggered by the glowing ball).
• A magnetic switch stops the timer once the Curie Point is reached, and the ball becomes magnetic.
• The time is displayed in 0.1 seconds resolution and freezes once the Curie Point is reached.

• State of the art temperature sensors and digital circuits to ensure reliable and accurate measurement of time (with a resolution of 0.1seconds)
• Digital display of time elapsed in Real Time.
• Automatic detection of time and the temperature immediately on the test ball achieving curie temperature,ensuring reliability.
